3.2 God's Spirit Gives Us Power-Temptation in the Desert

To those of you waiting to hear your silly voices on line:  They will be coming soon, I hope.  I got caught with a kind of time crunch on my job, and have to put that first.

Lesson from March 9, 2014

Memory Verse:  "And he died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." - 2 Corinthians 5:15

Here is a song to help with the memory verse.
Don't forget to pray before you begin to study the Bible.  Ask God to open the ears of your heart so that you can hear him more clearly inside your heart.
Read or listen to the story to Jesus being tempted in the wilderness.  You can find that story in Matthew 4:1-11.  While you listen, ask God to show you a picture in your imagination of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness.  Draw a picture or write about one thing that you notice.

Jesus was tempted.  What was Jesus tempted to do? How did Jesus resist temptation?

Jesus was tempted but didn't sin.  What kinds of things are temptations for you? How can you resist temptation the way that Jesus did?  Make it specific.  What is one temptation that you face, and what would help you to resist it?

Memory Verse Review "And he died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." - 2 Corinthians 5:15 One great way to review a verse is to copy it.  How many times can you write the verse here? (In your journal).  If you don't read and write very well yet, pick one word in the verse to learn how to read and practice writing it.

Looking Ahead to Next Week. Read or listen to the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man.  You can find it in Mark 2:1-12. Ask God to show you a picture in your mind of what this was like.  Draw it here or write down some things that you notice about this story.
